Mpac Group has acquired the trade and certain assets of Siga Vision, a UK-based provider of machine vision solutions for the food, beverage and healthcare sectors.
Founded in 2007, Siga specialises in automated visual inspection systems, including defect detection and quality control. Its technology integrates robotic cameras and image processors to prevent human error, reduce waste, streamline processes and cut costs.
Mpac and Siga have previously collaborated on vision solutions for Mpac’s packaging machinery and support services. The acquisition will allow Mpac to offer more integrated vision-related solutions to its clients.
Mpac's CEO, Adam Holland, commented: "I am delighted that we have been able to acquire Siga, a leader in its field that has been a partner to Mpac for many years. The solutions provided by Siga are critical to our customers' operations and we look forward to welcoming Siga into Mpac Group as we further develop our business, global customer support and technology offering."
The financial details of the acquisition are not disclosed.
