Nestlé Vietnam allocates $100m to expand coffee production facility

Nestlé Vietnam has made a strategic investment of $100 million aimed at expanding the production capabilities of its Tri An coffee facility, in the southern province of Đồng Nai. Nestlé says the investment is a response to the escalating demand for premium-quality coffee, both locally and globally. The Tri An factory presently serves as an exporter of coffee products, including brands such as Nescafé, Nescafé Dolce Gusto and Starbucks, to over 29 countries worldwide. Since its establishment in 2011, Nestlé has injected more than $500 million into this facility. Vietnam, currently holding the position of the world's second-largest coffee producer and exporter, plays a pivotal role in Nestlé's coffee sourcing operations. As the primary coffee purchaser in the country, Nestlé consistently invests approximately $700 million annually in coffee procurement. In 2011, Nestlé initiated the Nescafé Plan, a sustainability programme designed to foster the responsible development of coffee. Implemented in Vietnam's Central Highlands, the programme actively supports farmers in adopting sustainable agricultural practices, facilitates the rejuvenation of coffee plantations through the distribution of high-quality plantlets and promotes the preservation of water resources and biodiversity. Nestlé's footprint in Vietnam extends beyond its coffee production, with six operational factories specialising in coffee, cocoa malt beverages, cooking aids, and water. With a nearly three-decade presence in the country, Nestlé currently employs approximately 3,000 individuals. You may also like to read:
