Hormel Foods Corporation’s snacking brand Planters has unveiled its latest flavour innovation ahead of the autumn season, Apple Cider Donut Cashews. Available for a limited time at retailers across the US, the kettle-roasted cashews are flavoured with notes of apple and cinnamon. Datassential's fall trends report identified apple as a top ten seasonal flavour around the globe. Technomic's 2022 menu adoption cycle also revealed that apple cider is in the "early adoption" phase, indicating that apple cider is currently trending in restaurants and speciality grocers in the US. Planters said its latest launch came in response to this consumer interest. Its innovation team developed the Apple Cider Donut Cashews as part of the brand’s growing portfolio of autumn-themed products, joining its existing Pumpkin Spice Almonds. Allie Abney, Planters' brand manager, said: “Our team is dedicated to keeping a pulse on the latest flavour trends so that we can respond accordingly. This latest flavour innovation from the Planters brand promises to be a hit with consumers this fall.”
