POM Wonderful of Los Angeles, best known for its premium pomegranate juice drinks, has launched two RTD iced coffees in the US.

POMx Iced Coffee does not include or taste like pomegranate juice, but each bottle does contain a shot of the company’s proprietary POMx pomegranate extract – equal in antioxidant power to an 8oz (237ml) serving of 100% pomegranate juice – plus a stimulating dose of caffeine.

POMx Iced Coffee is described as “a sophisticated energy drink for consumers who seek an energy boost, but who typically avoid the excess sugar and artificial ingredients associated with carbonated sodas, coffee beverages and energy drinks.”

The product is offered in two "creamy and delicious" flavours: Cafe au Lait and Chocolate.

POMx is an ultra potent antioxidant supplement made exclusively by POM Wonderful, through a patent-pending process, from pomegranates grown on the company’s extensive plantations in central California.

All-natural ingredients Because of the high level of naturally occurring polyphenol antioxidants found in the California Wonderful variety of pomegranates grown by POM Wonderful, both the juice and POMx have been shown in clinical studies to offer particular benefits for heart and prostate health.

POMx Iced Coffee is made with all-natural ingredients including not only POMx but Italian-roasted Arabica coffee beans from Rainforest Alliance certified farms, milk from cows not treated with synthetic Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH), and organic cane sugar.

The drinks are packaged in 10.5oz (310ml) single-serve bottles with a recommended retail price of $2.99.

POMx Iced Coffee is initially available only in New York City and Whole Foods Markets across the Northeast and North Atlantic states.
