Wisdom Natural Brands is expanding its SweetLeaf product line with two zero-calorie sweeteners and three reduced-calorie sugars. The Arizona-based company said both product lines offer new options for consumers seeking natural sugar alternatives with no artificial ingredients, and without the cooling effect of other sugar replacements such as erythritol. All products are claimed to taste, bake, brown and caramelise like sugar, and can be used in cooking, baking, beverages and other sweetener applications. SweetLeaf Indulge Zero Calorie All-Purpose Sweeteners (MSRP $17.99 per 16 oz package) are available in both granular and powder form, made exclusively with natural ingredients including allulose, inulin, stevia leaf extract and monk fruit extract. They are formulated to be a 1:1 sugar replacement. SweetLeaf 50% Reduced Calorie Sugars (MSRP $15.99 per 16 oz package) include reduced-calorie coconut and date sugars as well as a cane sugar option. The new line slashes sugar-related calorie intake from 16 kcal per serving to just eight, claimed to achieve traditional sugar’s same taste and baking performance. Michael May, CEO of Wisdom Natural Brands said that most natural sugar replacements only use one alternative sweetener, leaving consumers “unsatisfied” with taste and performance. He added: “Our new SweetLeaf Indulge Zero Calorie All-Purpose Sweeteners and 50% Reduced Calorie Sugars address the issue by combining several natural sweeteners, including both stevia and monk fruit, delivering sugar substitutes with broader appeal”. The new lines will be available in July at selected US natural food retailers, on Amazon and via the company’s website.
