Ardent Mills appoints Tiago Darocha as chief operations officer

Flour-milling and ingredient company, Ardent Mills, has named Tiago Darocha as its new chief operations officer (COO).

Darocha’s background in operations and supply chain management within the food and beverage sector positions him to drive the company’s growth strategy, focusing on enhancing supply chain efficiency, operational quality and overall performance.

With over 20 years of experience, Darocha previously served as COO at United Malt, where he managed commercial and production operations, including malt production and barley procurement.

His tenure at Anheuser-Busch InBev spanned 21 years, where he held various leadership roles, including global vice president of brewing and quality and vice president of supply for the Middle Americas zone.

In his new role at Ardent Mills, Darocha will oversee all operational functions, including health and safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, technical services and improvement initiatives.

His appointment is seen as a strategic move to optimise the company’s operations and strengthen its commitment to delivering high-quality grain-based solutions.

Sheryl Wallace, CEO of Ardent Mills, said: “As a people-first organisation, we’re thrilled to welcome an experienced leader with a track record for serving customers and employees through operational excellence. I am confident that Tiago’s profound knowledge will help us build on the strong foundation of our business.”

Darocha added: “I am honoured to step into this next chapter as Ardent Mills' chief operations officer. The company's dedication to its people, safety, quality, innovation, and community resonates deeply with me. I look forward to working with the talented team at Ardent Mills to drive operational excellence.”

Originally from Brazil, Darocha holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Science in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and an MBA.
