Kilcoy Global Foods has acquired Tyson Foods Australia’s Coominya operation, a player in the beef patty market. This acquisition positions Kilcoy to enhance its production capabilities and supply chain efficiency, particularly in the fast food sector.
Located just an hour from Kilcoy's primary facility, the Coominya operation is renowned for its role as a principal supplier of beef patties to McDonald's Australia, producing up to three million patties daily.
The facility also exports products to various markets across Asia, underscoring its importance in Kilcoy's broader strategy to expand its international reach.
Jiah Falcke, president of Kilcoy Global Foods Australia, said: "The potential business synergies are exceptional. We’ve been supplying to Coominya for more than 20 years. The Coominya team has the same high standards that we do and for us, the fit made perfect business sense.”
The acquisition is expected to facilitate increased operational integration, allowing Kilcoy to leverage its existing supply chain. The Coominya facility will now be branded as Kilcoy Global Foods Coominya, and the company plans to invest in upgrades to enhance production capacity and meet consumer demand.
This development not only strengthens Kilcoy’s market position in Australia but also reinforces its commitment to sustainable growth in the competitive food and beverage manufacturing landscape.
As the company prepares for the next phase of expansion, the focus will likely remain on maintaining quality while increasing output to meet both domestic and international demand.
