PepsiCo completes $1.2bn acquisition of Siete Foods

PepsiCo completes $1.2bn acquisition of Siete Foods

PepsiCo has completed its acquisition of Mexican-American food brand Siete Foods for $1.2bn.

As FoodBev reported when the acquisition was first announced in October 2024, the move aims to enhance PepsiCo’s offerings in the better-for-you segment.

Texas-headquartered Siete Foods’ portfolio spans a range of heritage-inspired foods serving a variety of dietary needs and preferences, with products such as grain-free tortillas and puffs, beans, enchilada sauces, taco seasonings, botana sauces and more.

The growing Siete brand is the latest in a line of PepsiCo acquisitions that include PopCorners, Bare, Stacy’s Pita Chips and Sabra. With Siete, PepsiCo aims to further expand its portfolio with nutritious, simple foods and ingredients while introducing the popular Siete brand to new consumers.

The F&B giant said it is continuing to expand positive choices for consumers by reducing salt, sugar and saturated fat from its popular brands without compromising taste, transforming its portfolio through continuous innovation alongside strategic acquisitions to include ‘more positive nutrition’.

Steven Williams, CEO of PepsiCo North America, said: “We're committed to transforming our portfolio to include more positive choices that meet consumer demand for convenient and delicious products”.

“We love the Siete brand for the same reason so many loyal consumers do, and are dedicated to preserving its special attributes while making the brand more widely available and accessible on a broader scale.”

Miguel Garza, CEO and co-founder of Siete Foods, commented: “When our family founded Siete ten years ago, it was with a heartfelt mission: to share the beauty of our Mexican-American heritage and Latino culture with the world, creating foods that everyone can enjoy, love and feel connected to. The overwhelming support and passion we've seen – from the love for our products to the celebration of this milestone for Latino entrepreneurship – have profoundly inspired us.”

He added: “As we join PepsiCo, my family and I are committed to honouring, amplifying and continuing to build the Siete brand and welcoming even more people to join us at the table”.
