PepsiCo's PopWorks snack brand has teamed up with Malibu to launch a new limited-edition popped corn snack inspired by the piña colada cocktail.
The snacks feature PopWorks' classic crunchy, puffy popped corn triangles with a seasoning inspired by the pineapple and coconut flavours of the classic cocktail favourite. Though developed in collaboration with the rum-based coconut liqueur brand, the snacks do not contain alcohol and provide 81 kcal per 85g pack.
With a launch timed to coincide with summer, it comes as research shows piña coladas are a favourite summer cocktail among Brits. With more than half of Brits (54%) finding the cocktail flavour reminds them of being on holiday, the new popped corn snack aims to bring exotic summer flavours into a bite-sized, convenient snacking format.

Gui Pascuilli, head of culture and partnership at Malibu, said: “At Malibu, we love inspiring people to enjoy their time off in unexpected ways. That’s why we’ve teamed up with PopWorks to launch a new snack: a popped corn snack combining PopWorks' crunch with the tropical flavour of a Malibu piña colada."
"Non-alcoholic and full of good vibes, it brings the holiday mindset to you, wherever you are. It’s bold, playful, and we hope consumers love it as much as we do."
