As a judging panel member for the World Beverage Innovation Awards 2024, I'm excited to evaluate entries that showcase creativity, craftsmanship and forward-thinking in the beverage industry. My focus will be on categories emphasising brand innovation, product functionality and sustainability.
One area I’m particularly interested in is disruptive innovation. In our fast-evolving industry, brands must push boundaries and introduce radical ideas that distinguish them. I’m looking for entries that present something truly fresh, whether through novel ingredients, unique production methods or innovative packaging.
Another critical criterion is Brand concept and story. Connecting with consumers emotionally is vital in today’s market. A compelling brand story that fosters trust and resonates with the audience will stand out, especially from new and emerging brands.
Functionality also plays a significant role in my evaluations. While taste and presentation are essential, I value products that offer added benefits, such as health advantages. Functionality that enhances the overall beverage experience will score highly in my assessment.
Additionally, I have a strong appreciation for products incorporating locally sourced ingredients. This not only supports sustainability and community but also highlights authenticity and unique regional flavours.
I look forward to seeing how the entries reflect these key elements and to celebrating the innovation that is driving the beverage industry forward.
