Vitalfood, a newly formed brand resulting from the collaboration between Italcanditi and CSM Ingredients, aims to establish itself as a significant player in the European food ingredients sector.
The partnership combines over 70 years of expertise in fruit-based preparations, hydrated creams and candied fruit, catering to a diverse range of industries including bakery, dairy, gelato and fine pastry.
With production facilities located in Pedrengo, Italy, and Goes, Netherlands, the Vitalfood brand will boast a total production capacity of 150,000 tons per year.
The Goes facility, operational since the 1950s, specialises in fruit-based solutions for both dairy and non-dairy sectors, while the Pedrengo site, established in 1960, is recognised for its leadership in fruit-based preparations and hydrated creams.
The integration of these two facilities will enable Vitalfood to leverage a combined workforce of approximately 500 employees and a production area totalling 101,000 square metres. This scale positions the brand to meet the growing demand for innovative food solutions across Europe.
Vitalfood’s product range will include fruit-based preparations, candied and semi-candied fruit, marron glacé, hydrated creams, glazes, mirrors and savoury sauces.
The brand also plans to offer customised solutions tailored to specific client needs, addressing current market trends such as protein-rich, vegan and sugar-free options.
The formation of the Vitalfood brand is expected to enhance customer service and supply capabilities, providing clients with a more international presence and increased agility.
The partnership of expertise aims to create productive synergies that will benefit both industrial and artisanal producers, enabling them to respond effectively to evolving consumer preferences.
Italcanditi, founded over six decades ago, has evolved from its roots in candied fruit production to become a key player in the global market for fruit-based solutions.
The company has expanded its portfolio through acquisitions, including Rubicone and Comprital, which specialise in semi-finished products for gelato and pastry.
Headquartered in Luxemboug, CSM Ingredients complements this expertise with its global reach and commitment to innovation. With multiple production plants and innovation centres, CSM Ingredients focuses on developing tailored solutions for the food industry, serving clients across 120 countries.
