In time for summer, General Mills' brand Progresso has introduced a new line of BBQ-inspired soups aimed at transforming traditional cookout flavours into convenient, ready-to-eat meals.
The Progresso Pitmaster collection features five varieties, each boasting 14g of protein or more per can, catering to consumers seeking hearty and flavourful options without the need for outdoor cooking.
The new offerings are designed to appeal to a growing segment of consumers who desire the robust tastes associated with backyard barbecues but prefer the simplicity of a quick meal solution.
Each soup combines quality meats and roasted vegetables, delivering a satisfying taste experience in just five minutes. This innovation reflects a broader trend in the food and beverage industry, where convenience and flavour are increasingly prioritised.
María Carolina Comings, business unit director at General Mills, highlighted the company's commitment to diversifying its product line-up. "We’ve been focused for some time now on shaking up the soup aisle to deliver new and different choices to appeal to more people," she said.
