Pilgrim’s Europe-owned brand Richmond has expanded its Extra Tasty portfolio with the launch of Pigs in Blankets.
The new product features the brand’s classic pork cocktail sausages wrapped in streaky beechwood smoked bacon. It joins Richmond's 'Extra Tasty’ sausage products – Signature Pork and Pork & Caramelised Red Onion, which were first launched in September.
The launch is designed to tap into increasing demand for pigs in blankets – last year supermarket sales of pigs in blankets increased by £21.9 million during November and December, proving they remain a Christmas favourite amongst shoppers.

By using our streaky beechwood smoked bacon, we provide an affordable way to elevate this non-negotiable festive staple.”

In May, Richmond partnered with Heinz on the launch of Heinz Beanz and Spaghetti with sausages, replacing the existing Beanz and Spaghetti with Sausages range. The collaboration is part of Heinz’s mission to elevate its sausage portfolio and improve its taste credentials across its products.
Richmond Pigs in Blankets will be available exclusively in Tesco stores across the UK from 27 November.
