Sirio Pharma has announced the launch of the Sirio Institute for Anti-Ageing at this year’s Boao Health Food Science Conference & Expo.
The institute aims to advance anti-ageing science, as well as develop and commercialise innovative products to promote healthy longevity, providing businesses with the knowledge, resources and support they need to bring groundbreaking solutions to the market and gain a competitive edge in the rapidly growing anti-ageing industry.
Following a growing demand for anti-ageing solutions, research at the institute will focus on four core areas: cellular health, probiotics and gut health, muscle health and reproductive system health, guided by the global Scientific Advisory Board.
Sirio Pharma specialises in developing and manufacturing products including gummies, soft gels, capsules, tablets, powders, liquids, probiotics and other dosage forms, with manufacturing sites in Germany, USA and China.
By leveraging research and development capabilities, the institute aims to advance product development across those four core research areas and will explore the biological mechanisms of ageing and how they can be modulated.
Yu-Xuan Luyu, research assistant professor at the Institute of Advanced Biotechnology and the School of Medicine at the Southern University of Science and Technology, will head the institute and assemble the scientific advisory board.
Luyu said: “The Sirio Institute for Anti-Ageing will pioneer rigorous, evidence-based research and product development for our nutraceutical partners worldwide”.
Speaking about the work that will be carried out at the institute, Luyu added: “Our approach extends beyond merely delaying ageing manifestations, aiming to identify and modulate fundamental mechanisms of ageing. We will conduct cutting-edge research into innovative bioactive ingredients, synergistic formulations, delivery and stability optimisation protocols, and demonstrable consumer health benefits.”
