Snacking giant Pladis has introduced a new indulgent variety of its bestselling biscuit range, McVitie’s Signature.
The new three-strong McVitie’s Signature range includes Caramel Chocolate Rounds, a rich, gooey caramel encased by a crunchy biscuit and thick milk chocolate.
The second variety, Chocolate Caramel Biscuits, consist of a golden-baked biscuit topped with caramel, coated in milk chocolate and crowned with a sprinkling of biscuit crumbs. Finally, Chocolate Cream Swirls feature a velvety-smooth chocolate cream filling inside a crunchy, patterned biscuit.
James King, marketing director of McVitie’s at Pladis UK&I, said: “Our research shows that shoppers are hungry for more choice and inspiration when it comes to evening snacking. Alongside more indulgent flavours, they’re looking for visually appealing treats and exciting textures, but this isn’t currently being fulfilled when it comes to biscuits."
He continued: “Our new McVitie’s Signature range delivers a sensory experience that proves sweet biscuits can be just as indulgent as other treats. Alongside tasting great, it also ticks the boxes when it comes to looking mouthwatering, delivering multi-textures including chocolate – everything needed to help drive growth for sweet biscuits during this occasion by making sure they are seen as an evening snacking essential.”
This is the latest in a number of launches from McVitie’s. This month, the brand introduced two new varieties of its popular McVitie’s Digestives biscuits – Seriously Chocolatey Digestives and limited-edition Gold Digestives. A few days later, the brand introduced a new cocoa-flavoured version of its Rich Tea biscuits.
The McVitie’s Signature range is available to purchase in Waitrose stores in the UK now, before further retail rollout in the coming weeks.
