UK condiments brand Sauce Shop has unveiled its latest innovation, a miso teriyaki barbecue sauce.
The NPD combines a classic barbecue sauce with Japanese-inspired flavours, tapping into the increasingly popular ‘East meets West’ fusion trend.
Described by the brand as a blend of sweet, savoury and umami notes, the sauce combines a rich red miso flavour with notes of sweet tomato, sesame, and traditional barbecue sauce’s smoky depth. It aims to offer a versatile sauce that can be used for marinating, dipping and drizzling, suitable for pairing with numerous dishes including grilled meats and vegetables, stir fries and burgers.
The sauce has launched exclusively at Sainsbury’s stores across the UK, with a RRP of £2.80. Pam Digva, co-founder of Sauce Shop, commented: “We’re excited to introduce our new Miso Teriyaki BBQ sauce exclusively to Sainsbury’s customers, who we know are often on the lookout for new and exciting flavours".
She added: "We know this combination of flavours works really well and will be perfect for anyone looking to incorporate Asian fusion flavours into their cooking with minimal effort".
This latest NPD follows the launch of two limited-edition sauces from Sauce Shop earlier this month, in collaboration with retailer Aldi, joining the brand’s existing line-up of more than 35 flavours.
