Alouette, known for its spreadable cheeses, has announced the launch of a new permanent product –Alouette Cheesecake Spread – aimed at diversifying its offerings in the competitive snack market.

The spread will be available at major retailers in the US nationwide, including Giant, Stop & Shop and Albertson’s, starting this September, with a suggested retail price of $6.99 per container.

The introduction of the Cheesecake Spread reflects a broader trend in the food and beverage industry towards versatile, indulgent products that cater to various consumer occasions, from casual snacking to entertaining.

Mickey Burnett, director of marketing at Alouette, said: “Alouette spreadable cheeses feature a diverse, savoury mix of flavours and we wanted to introduce a new sweet offering that adds an unexpected twist to any occasion." The Cheesecake Spread can be utilised in multiple ways, serving as a healthier alternative for baking, a dip for fruit or graham crackers, or a spread for bagels.

The product's creamy texture and sweet cheesecake flavour are expected to appeal to a wide range of consumers, particularly those looking for indulgent yet easy-to-use options.

As the market for sweet spreads continues to grow, Alouette's entry into this segment may position the brand to capture a share of the expanding category.

The timing of the launch aligns well with the upcoming holiday season, a period known for increased consumer spending on food and entertaining.

By introducing the Cheesecake Spread now, Alouette aims to capitalise on the festive atmosphere, encouraging consumers to incorporate the product into their gatherings.
