UK gourmet pasta sauce start-up Saucerer has introduced a limited-edition pasta sauce in collaboration with London restaurant and deli Tom’s Pasta.
Tom’s Calabrian Chilli & Hot Honey Pasta Sauce joins Saucerer’s existing portfolio of permanent flavours – Wild Mushroom & Truffle Oil Pesto, Plant-based Chorizo & Smokey Red Peppers, and Roasted Aubergine & Spicy Harissa – for a limited time.
The sauce combines Calabrian chillies with a hint of sweet hot honey, tapping into the trending flavour profile of sweet and spicy. It contains hints of fennel and oregano to round it off, described as offering an ‘intense’ flavour.
Tom Haydon, founder of Tom’s Pasta, confirmed that Saucerer would be making ‘a few thousand’ jars of the limited-edition flavour, with some to be stocked in his deli, as well as being used in the restaurant’s dishes.
Tim Hillgarth, founder of Saucerer, said: “Saucerer are on a crusade against bland and ultra-processed pasta sauces. Our plan is to keep on innovating and creating amazing new gourmet flavours that are restaurant quality but can be enjoyed in the comfort of your own home – convenient and hassle-free.”
