All Things Butter expands sweet range with ‘category-first’ chocolate butter

UK butter brand All Things Butter has unveiled what it claims is the industry’s ‘first and only’ chocolate butter.

The latest addition to the brand’s flavoured butter line-up follows the launch of its first sweet product, Cinnamon Bun, in May this year.

Developed by All Things Butter’s Brue Valley farm in Somerset, UK, alongside equity partner and Great British Bake Off chef Ruby Bhogal, the new flavour blends rich chocolate with 100% British cream that has been twice-churned for extra flavour and creaminess.

Its sweet flavour is achieved through the inclusion of icing sugar, cocoa powder, light brown sugar, lemon juice and vanilla extract powder, with a hint of salt.

The brand designed the NPD to provide a ‘more grown-up’ take on a classic chocolate spread, as well as a versatile and convenient ingredient that can be used in home cooking and baking applications.

Toby Hopkinson, co-founder of All Things Butter, commented: “Flavoured butter is becoming increasingly popular, largely thanks to brands like ours that are changing the way butter is perceived. Butter is no longer an occasional purchase to simply spread onto toast at breakfast; it's fast becoming a staple ingredient for dishes prepared across all meal times, and the snacks in between, to elevate and add new twists to tried and tested recipes.”

He added: “Our chocolate butter is luxurious and, with only 17.5g of sugar per pack, it is sure to be a big hit with our growing community and create more flavoured butter fans”.

Equity partner Bhogal said that the new butter addition “takes the hard work out of baking for people who aren’t pro bakers”.

She said: “It is extremely versatile; add it to batter to make pancakes or croissants with a deep chocolate flavour throughout, use it to create a chocolate crumble, or blend it with icing sugar to make a decadent cake frosting…I can see this being a go-to in many bakers’ ingredients lists because of all the creative possibilities.”

All Things Butter’s new chocolate butter is available at Waitrose and via Ocado, as well as through the brand’s own website. It launches with an RRP of £2.95 per 125g block.
