Mars has announced plans to establish a new 339,000-square-foot baking facility by Nature’s Bakery, in Salt Lake City, Utah, US.
According to Mars, Nature's Bakery – which was founded in 2011 – has become the fastest-growing granola and snack bar brand in the category. The brand bakes whole ingredients into on-the-go snacks that are plant-based, dairy-free and nut-free.
Nature's Bakery predicts that the new Utah facility – the result of $237 million investment – will lead to the creation of over 190 jobs.
Steve Gardiner, CEO of Nature's Bakery, said: "I am thrilled for our strategic expansion with the establishment of a cutting-edge baking facility in Salt Lake City. This investment marks a significant milestone in our brand's ability to drive greater capacity to meet growing consumer and retailer demand.”
He continued: “As a self-manufacturer, this facility joins our existing bakeries to reflect our commitment to innovation and quality, and underscores our confidence in the thriving business environment of Utah. Nature's Bakery expects its new facility to begin operations in July next year.
