Quaker Canada has issued a voluntary recall of its granola bars and Harvest Crunch cereals due to possible exposure to salmonella. The decision follows a recall initiated last Thursday in the US by the Quaker Oats Company and is "taken in Canada out of an abundance of caution and commitment to the well-being of our Canadian consumers," said the company. The affected items comprise ten varieties of Harvest Crunch cereals, 13 Chewy granola bars, nine Dipps granola bars, five Quaker Yogurt granola bars and one Captain Crunch cereal treat bar. The recalled products have been distributed across Canada. According to Quakers, consumers are advised to inspect their pantries for any of the mentioned products and discard them. Quaker said that it is working closely with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to ensure the removal of the recalled products from the marketplace.
