Doritos and Burger King UK collaborate on new crisp flavour

Doritos has teamed up with Burger King UK to launch new Flame-Grilled Whopper flavour Doritos tortilla chips. The Whopper is known for the smoky flavours of flame-grilled beef, tomatoes, onions and pickles. Unlike the classic Whopper burger, the crisps are non-HFSS and suitable for vegetarians. Katie Evans, marketing director at Burger King UK, said: “We’ve been secretly working on Whopper Doritos for the past year and we’re incredibly proud to unveil this epic collaboration - in snack form! We have loved developing the iconic Whopper flavour, bringing flame-grilled beef, fresh tomatoes, onions and pickles that our customers know and love and delivering it on a Dorito’s tortilla chip. We’re excited for fans to try it, so they can now enjoy a Whopper wherever and whenever they want.” Lee-Teng Houston, UK marketing director at Doritos, added: “Our shoppers are continually looking for bolder flavours and taste experiences – and this is exactly what we are giving them. The new flavour adds excitement and innovation to the category, and we expect it will fly off the shelves.” The launch comes after KFC teamed up with PepsiCo Foods Canada last year, to create Ruffles KFC Original Recipe Chicken-flavoured potato chips for the Ruffles brand. The crisps will be available in retailers nationwide from mid-March for an RRP of £2.25 per 180g sharing bag.
