Viserion Oilseed Processing, part of Viserion International, will acquire the Soya Crush Plant from Cargill through its Elian Barcelona subsidiary. The Soya Crush Plant is a soybean crushing facility situated in Barcelona, Spain. According to Viserion, the acquisition is an "important infrastructural element" in a connected supply chain that serves the Catalan, Spanish and European feed and food ingredient sectors. Elian Barcelona plans to expand the plant's capabilities to produce a wider variety of sustainable and innovative food and speciality feed ingredients through concentration and textured protein, which are vital for supplying farm-to-food products to markets across Europe and the Mediterranean. All existing staff at the facility will retain their positions, and Elian Barcelona intends to hire additional team members as it increases production at the plant.

We look forward to leveraging our strong US infrastructure and dedicated, experienced team to expand the Viserion platform both organically and opportunistically and to further grow our international grain and food product handling and trading business.” The transaction is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2024, subject to regulatory approval from the Barcelona Port Authority.
