Mighty Pop has launched in the US, a new wellness-focused soda brand incubated by global bev-tech company Beliv. The brand claims to be offering the first soda with a mixture of pre, pro and postbiotics in one can, promising to boost gut health and immunity. It is USDA-certified organic and its initial production sold out in just one month, Beliv reported. Mighty Pop debuted in US Giant and Martin stores in four flavours: Orange Vanilla, Strawberry Hibiscus, Berry Lime and Pineapple Grapefruit. The range is now also available on Amazon, with additional retailers set to onboard the soda this autumn. Each 12oz can of Mighty Pop contains 1 billion live probiotic cultures, 3g prebiotic fibre from ‘sustainably-sourced and certified carbon-neutral acacia plants’ and postbiotics to help positively modulate the microbiome and support immune health. Each can also contains 3g of sugar, sweetened by agave, and 30 calories. Clayton Santos, director of R&D at Beliv, said: “Consumers of all backgrounds crave great flavours and goodness in the better-for-you beverage space, and Beliv’s latest soda innovation embodies our commitment to natural, healthful and sustainable products that burst with flavour, and stand on the cutting edge”. Mighty Pop joins Beliv’s roster of US beverage brands, including organic plant-based energy brand Oca, kombucha and functional shot brand Big Easy and the recently acquired cold brew coffee brand High Brew. Reinaldo Padua, Beliv’s chief brand officer, said that the company’s portfolio is on track for “explosive growth” in the US, spanning brands that evoke “familiarity, authenticity and nostalgia”.
